Glass that answers the privacy question

A glass partition fitted with smart film - frosted privacy on demand, clear when powered.

  • Under 0.1 s switching - clear to frosted the instant power changes
  • ~5 W per m² - less power than a light bulb, only while clear
  • Factory-cut to size - busbar finished and tested, ready to wire
Can I install self-adhesive smart film myself?

Yes. It peels and sticks like a large phone screen protector, using a dry peel-and-stick method. We provide wiring diagrams, step-by-step video tutorials and remote engineer support with every order - see the installation guide page for the full process.

What power does PDLC film need?

AC 60V or 48V via a safe transformer - about 5 W per m². A 10 m² partition draws less than one LED bulb, and only while switched clear. PNLC film accepts AC 25-80V.

How long does the film last?

Rated for 15+ years of daily on/off cycling, with a 2-year written warranty. Our film is produced in a dust-free, thermostatic workshop - the defects that kill cheap film (haze, dots, delamination) start with dust and moisture in production.

Self-adhesive vs non-adhesive vs laminated glass - which to choose?

Retrofitting existing glass: self-adhesive film. Glass lamination production: non-adhesive film rolls. New doors, windows or partitions: finished laminated smart glass. See the buying guide for a detailed decision table.

Clear, Super Clear, Ultra Clear or Grey - which grade?

Clear (85% ON) is the standard. Super Clear (89%) for shops and showcases. Ultra Clear (92%) for high-end offices and hotels. Grey (39.6% ON) adds solar control with a tinted look. All share the same 0.4 mm build and voltage. Need clear-by-default? See PNLC film.

Can I use smart film as a projection screen?

Yes. In the opaque state PDLC film is an excellent rear-projection surface for home cinema, shops and presentations - a single installation serves as privacy glass by day and a big screen by night.

Which side does the busbar (electrode) go on?

Factory rule: if the length-to-width ratio of the piece is greater than 3:1, the busbar goes on one long side or on two short sides - a single short-side busbar cannot power the whole piece evenly and hurts transparency. We position it correctly on every ordered piece.

Can I cut the film to size myself?

Factory cutting is recommended (tolerance ±2 mm, diagonal ±3 mm). On-site trimming is possible but the electrode must be re-finished after cutting - our installation guide covers the full busbar reconnection process with copper foil and silver ink.

How is the film shipped and packed?

Pieces roll in cylindrical form with protective film, corners sealed to prevent delamination, busbar protected with transparent tape. Every piece passes a 60V power-on test for sparking, folding, delamination and white spots before packing.

Does it work in hot or cold climates?

PDLC film operates from -30°C to 70°C, covering most climates including unheated buildings. PNLC operates from -10°C to 60°C.

What is the view angle?

160° - the film is fully transparent across nearly the entire viewing cone, with no visible color shift at oblique angles.

Do you ship worldwide and offer samples?

Yes - we ship worldwide and offer free samples with finished busbar and wiring instructions via the free sample page. Sample cost is credited against your first order.

What warranty do I get?

2-year warranty on film and electronics, with 15+ years rated service life. Warranty validation is tied to your order - batch traceable from ITO coating onward.
